Poles have feelings too!

In my previous post, I shared my experience on Andrill Terrace. That same night I stumbled across a Light that wasn’t working. The intersection of Oaklawn and Andrill Terrace has a Wooden pole with a single Overhead HPS (High Pressure Sodium) fixture on it. Upon further examination, the pole was just hanging out, by itself, wires hanging down the pole, not connected to any other pole and its all alone on Oaklawn Avenue. This pole is just after crossing the bridge and the bridge is all lit up. I was going to report it to Duke Energy, but I thought something else has to be going on. Researching with the City, I found out the pole will be removed as the lighting on the bridge was all replaced with LED Pedestrian poles and they left this pole disconnected. I don’t agree that this, I feel like this area should have a light, so I’m currently pleading my case to the City to get it reconnected. Stay Tuned!

Update: October 2020 – Pole is still disconnected and all alone out there.
